The Feldenkrais Method
The Feldenkrais Method combines science, biomechanics, movement and neuroplasticity, via simple and practical lessons,
to bring about profound changes in our movements and comfort.
What can it do for me?
Re-educating ourselves to move well with little effort.
We once knew how to move very well, as children. This, however, often changes as we get older, through years of too much sitting
(from school to desk jobs), through injury and surgery, through becoming fixed in physical habits from repeated daily activities.
The Feldenkrais Method can help our nervous system to let go of these physical habits, to let go of the unnecessary holding,
which increases our range and ease of movement and allows us to share physical effort throughout the whole of ourselves.
This, in turn, can prevent injury, free up energy, allow us to move freely and to find more pleasure in movement and in our lives.
Amongst many things the Feldenkrais Method can help us with:
• Improving and increasing flexibility, coordination and balance •
• Rehabilitating from pain and injury •
• Feeling calmer and more grounded •
• Improving sports, exercise, singing, dancing and gardening •
• Moving into older age with more confidence in physical abilities •
• Neurological Conditions •
The Feldenkrais Method is a practice and it allows us, overtime, to NOTICE and become AWARE of how we move,
when and where we hold on unnecessarily and when we are using too much effort for the task involved.
This awareness brings us choices and more ease, in our everyday movement and as a result, in our everyday lives.
