Group Classes

The Feldenkrais Method is practiced in two ways: in group classes called ‘Awareness Through Movement’
and in individual sessions called ‘Functional Integration’.

Awareness Through Movement

Group Classes normally take place lying on the floor in different positions (though sometimes in sitting). Throughout the class students are verbally led through a sequence of exploratory movements. Students are encouraged to stay within a range of ease and comfort and to pay attention to how they move - the quality of the movement, the easy range of the movement, when the quality changes and to be attentive to not using unnecessary effort. Students are continually guided and supported in this throughout the 45-60 minutes lesson.
